Rest in the first weeks after birth
In the first weeks, rest is easily pushed aside by visitors, feeds and tasks. Yet it is the heart of recovery.
Rest is not a reward
Rest is often treated as something earned once everything else is done. After birth, it works the other way round: rest comes first.
Protecting quiet
Fewer visitors, shorter visits, and help with meals all make room for sleep. It is fine to say not yet.
Rest through the night
Nights are often hardest. Knowing that expert care is close by makes it easier to sleep. At The Fourth Sanctuary, care continues day and night.
For any concern about your health or your baby's, speak to your midwife or doctor.
